Recorded with Tascam DR-05 with in-built microphones April 2013 at the local round of the New South Wales/ACT State Hillclimb Championship Series, Fairbairn Hillclimb Circuit, Canberra. The car approaches the starting line, does a quick burnout to warm the drive-tyres, and waits for the GO light, and speeds off on the hill climb course. (One car on race circuit at a time.)

a light freight train approaching with a whiny horn sequence at the beginning. includes loud engine noises and rail car movement sounds. the engine idles for about 10 seconds near the beginnnig before finally starting to move again. i recorded this in 2021 with a sony icd-px470, at a norfolk southern rail yard on a particularly busy day. i got dozens of takes, but only 2 of them were really usable. this is one of the two. i edited it lightly in audacity (i mainly just compressed it). crediting me isn't required if you decide to use my sound, but it would be greatly appreciated if you do decide

I needed the sound effect for a car arriving. These were recorded in my driveway. 2011 Honda Element, waliking to car, starting it, backing down driveway, driving back up driveway, stopping car and walking away. Recorded using the internal mics of a Zoom h2n. Recorded was on a tripod about three feet from car. These sounds were originally used in a performance of Vanya, and Masha, and Sonia and Spike.

Car Startup (Engine Ignition)
A car engine startup recording with LOM (Slovakian microphone manufacturers) omnidirectional microphone ("Ucho"). If by chance I gain access to stereo diaphragm mikes of good quality, the re-take of this will be of higher quality. I intended to use this for GTA sound modding and for general car ignition noises For anyone curious, this is a second-hand Honda Accord (2006) saloon's engine revving, the person revving this vehicle is one of my friends starting it up who I asked kindly if I could record it.

Underhood recording of my Renault 19 with oldish carburetted Cleon engine (C2J). Double barrel Webber 32 DRT carb ~72PS engine. Start engine, tire skid, hard acceleration up to 6000 RPM and coast down to idle, several times. Throttle blips up to 7000 RPM. Mic: Sony ECM-DS30P stereo Recorder: Sony MZ-N707 mini disc, SP mode, AGC: off. Wanted to test this cheap mic and custom made windscreen - this is my first car recording, and that's why i started with this cheap microphone, don't want to learn on expensive stuff. Still, i'm amazed how the recording turned out, it's $24 mic in not very silent

A simple recording of me waiting for a train to pass in with cargo of logs. You will hear the train stopping for a moment and keeps going after only a few seconds. At the end you hear diesel engine starting of the small truck and the radio starting with the car. I left the whole clip uncut, its recorded with my samsung s20 ultra voice recorder.

WRX Exhaust sounds
This is a clip of various engine sounds recorded on my 2003 Subaru Impreza WRX with a 3" turbo-back exhaust system. The audio starts with the engine at idle and includes a few engine revs at different RPMs. You can hear some turbo whistling and also some rattling of god-knows-what parts. It's a little muffled (kind of a muddy sound), but could be used as part of an action sequence or with a music track laid over. As always, I love knowing how people use my tracks! I'd appreciate a comment letting me know what kind of project you're doing and, if possible, a link to any finished work! Thanks.
